The summer seasons

The Greek summer is longer than you may think, there is no bad time to visit Greece, however some months may suit you more than others. 

From mid-April to the beginning of June the day-times are pleasant for walking and exploring the beautiful countryside, whilst days on the beach will be great for those who are sensitive to the heat.  In the evenings one will often need to have a summer jacket at hand as temperatures may fall. 

From July through to August the temperatures will rise steeply, with hot days and hot nights in store for all who choose to travel in this period.  This time of the year is ideal for sun-lovers, with the sea, sun and sand radiating in all their glory. 

September and October are what the locals call 'their months', these months are the when the locals start to wind downtogether with the fall in temperatures. Warm days, comfortable nights and a beautifully clear atmosphere; a wonderful time of the year to take advantage of Greece's natural beauty.   

Eating the Greek way

The Greeks "Live to eat, they do not eat to live"

Sit and watch the locals eating in the taverna, every dish is chosen carefully, in some cases the taverna will still have the traditional way of ordering, where you go directly to the kitchen and choose your food from an array of bubbling pots of pans sending out delicious aromas.

The Greeks take time out to eat, they savour the flavours, meal time is time to meet up with friends and family, to laugh, argue, discuss and solve problems, gossip, and arrange the occasional marriage.
